The Kingdom of Kings

Posted by Lukewarm On February - 6 - 2009

I came to learn another method of worshiping my fantastic God. By writing songs. I’ve always felt this urge to write a poem or song and one Saturday morning, as I was having breakfast and reading Every Man’s Battle,I was in awe of God. So I put the book down, grabbed pen and paper and started writing.

I showed my wife and she was so excited. She immediately sat on the piano and started tinkering away and came up with a simple pleasing melody. So after cleaning it up a little to fit the melody, we came down to a working title of “The King’s Kingdom”. I hope to get a video up soon, when I overcome my terrible voice phobia!

The King’s Kingdom

Verse

The Kingdom was rebuilt with everlasting life

The Kingdom was rebuilt with Holy Fire

By the sweetness of your blood, the Kingdom gives us life

And the ghost gives us the precious secret key

Chorus

You are the Lord of Lords, the King of all Kings

The Song of Songs, my majesty on high

You are the Lord of Lords, the King of all Kings

The Song of Songs, my friend my joy my Abba Father.

Song’s Meaning

I wrote the song because I just wanted to praise God. Just wanted to acknowledge who He was and what He meant to me. My proclamation of joy, wonder and amazement.

The Kingdom in the song represents the temple which is also Jesus. “I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.” (Matthew 26:61). Kingdom also has another meaning of heaven, which is also only accessible through Jesus.

The ghost is the Holy Spirit and its always been the Holy Spirit’s that guided us to God. He is the one that opened our hearts to accept and love God. It is the Holy Spirit that works within us this day so that we may be granted eternal life.

The chorus is an emphasis of how wonderful and awesome God is. In the Bible, a repetition of words is an emphasis. I also wanted to add Abba which literally means “dad” or “daddy”. Rather than having Oh Holy Majestic Highness, which makes God sound so far off and detached from us, I wanted to convey that God is just like our own loving, caring, kind and great daddy.
