Obedience to God’s Authority and My Boss

Posted by Lukewarm On June - 30 - 2009
I have a confession and sobering repentance that I want to bring light on. God is humbling me and reminding me that my pride and arrogance is getting in the way of seeing His glory. As you are probably know well, the basics to Christian living is not believing in the existence of God. Belief and faith are two completely different things. I believe that George Washington and Napoleon existed but… [....]

Victory Over Temptation

Posted by Lukewarm On March - 4 - 2009
This is my last night in New York. It was a brief business trip but it was the first since the time where I sincerely cried out to God for help. To save me from sin and to run away from my lukewarmness. It has been a little under 1 year since then, but looking back, God has trained me many ways and has strengthened me to become his soldier. I'm in… [....]

What is Christian Love?

Posted by Lukewarm On February - 27 - 2009
As a male, I've always found it difficult to grasp the concept of love in general. Christian love was even harder. Many people I talk to make it sound like such an intimate relationship, just like that first date where you just cant stop thinking about your date. I'm not sure whether I've ever felt like that about Jesus. One day I was reading Mere Christianity

What Would Jesus Do?

Posted by Lukewarm On February - 25 - 2009
A simple question, that has changed my attitude and behaviour. Rather than ask "what should I do?", by turning the focus of the question to Jesus, the answer is always so clear and obvious. At first it was joke between my wife and I but as we kept asking it to each other, it ended up bring more than a joke. It changed our perspective and attitudes.

The I Heart Revolution: We’re All In This Together

Thank you to Brian Eberly for bringing the following video of Hillsong United to my attention. My heart cries for shame and weeps at the blatant thievery these people have been subjected to.... by me.

The I Heart Revolution: We're All In This Together

While we sit around entertaining ourselves watching reality shows, a child is prostituted behind closed doors, robbed of their innocence.

It's not… [....]

Does Jesus Know You?

Posted by Lukewarm On February - 19 - 2009
A simple question someone could ask you is "do you know Jesus?". But the answer to this question is useless. The underlying truth cannot be determined with this question.  The question that we really need to be able to answer is "does Jesus know you?". If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:15) For the lukewarm Christians, does… [....]

Family Devotions

Posted by Lukewarm On February - 17 - 2009
It has been 136 days since my wife and I got married. We've also had 136 family devotions and it all began after the ceremony. The day after our wedding, the pastor gave us homework for each night of our honeymoon. We were to start reading from 1 John and that's what we started doing from our first night on our honeymoon. We would read and share our thoughts and… [....]

Digesting the Word Makes My Stomach Turn

Posted by Lukewarm On February - 11 - 2009
I finally learnt what it meant for the Christian life to live according to the Bible. For so many years when I went to churches, conferences, cell groups and retreats, I always felt good. I felt so alive and free. It was like honey in the mouth. However, I must have always spat out the honey when I got back to daily life because I never fully digested it. By digesting… [....]

Submission to Human Authority

Posted by Lukewarm On February - 6 - 2009
I don't believe I've ever handled stubborn and ignorant people very well, because I was one of them. There's the saying that "it takes one to know one". Well, I am ashamed to say that I do not have a very good relationship with my boss. Since I work at a pure Korean company based in USA, upper management is always filled by people from Korea who are… [....]

Being a Husband Rather than a Golfer

Posted by Lukewarm On February - 3 - 2009
I am the type of person where once I start something, I go deeper and deeper into it. e.g. I'm not the greatest on the guitar but I still play regularly and spent a fair amount of time trying to improve. Same goes for photography which has now become one of my dominant hobbies which eventually led me to other disciplines in photo editing, videos and a little graphic design… [....]
