But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth! - Rev 3:16(NLT)
My wife and I were married on Oct 4, 2008 and we both had a normal upbringing in a Christian family. Just another pair of normal neighbors and people on the street. That’s also how we must have displayed ourselves to God, because we were just that, no different from anyone else in the world.
After 26 years of life and being a Christian, we realized our true identity and it wasn’t pretty. We were lukewarm Christians. We knew God with our head but not our hearts, we knew scripture and read the Bible every now and then but never applied it. People thought we were holy and God fearing at our church but we were always behind a facade of acting and responsibility.
Our hearts were not on fire for God nor was it cold enough to get help from others. We were lukewarm Christians in the middle of nowhere. However, through marriage and daily family devotions, God showed us how we had been living. He wanted us to grow up and do the work he assigned us.
Now that my wife and I came to this realization, our hearts long for God and we are sick of being lukewarm. Sick of living dry, meaningless, worldly lives. We now want God’s life and eagerly await His return.
This blog is a documentation of our fight against lukewarm Christianity, to share our experiences, revelations and encourage others who may also want to break free from the devastating conclusion of lukewarm Christians.
There is only one standard, and that is God’s standard. Excellence is never good enough for God. Perfection is what he seeks and what we must strive for. Therefore there are sensitive subjects that we will surely cover. From the worlds standard it will be closed minded and controversial, but by God’s standard it is freedom and truth.
